Why do you make art?
I make art to answer questions within myself, to discover layers of myself that the pace of life won't allow me to do all the time. I create art to challenge my capability, to evoke pride in myself for learning, to inspire myself and my peers. I make art because it's truly what I know how to do, even when there's elements to making art that I am still learning. I make art to understand and be understood, to blend all the elements of my being, and to reflect my life concisely.

Issaiha Cunningham (they/he) is an artist, bore from the mountains of Tryon, North Carolina and sent into the world on a mission to create. In their journey through this lifetime, they've been a director, a writer, a poet, a singer, a producer, an advocate, a safe space for artist, family, and friends alike to express comfortably and confidently. Issaiha's hope is that their work reflects the heart and soul of a prayer, of a hug, of a space where being authentically yourself is the only requirement, and that their contribution to the world of art will introduce, and highlight the fly ass queer voices that consistently open roads for and around them.
