Maya Renee Thompson is a creator who specializes in storytelling and colorful expression, through creative writing and visual art. Maya’s storytelling and artwork mainly focus on Black and Queer people in fantasy and surreal environments, highlighting the strength and struggle of marginalized groups in a world that centers them. Maya has explored these themes through creative writing, as seen in her poetry published in Aunt Chloe: Literary Journal's 2023 Issue and in her art on her Youtube channel of over five years: xNailed Itx. Here she explores all forms of visual art but centers nail art specifically, as a key aspect of feminine African American culture. Maya wants to send every soul on Earth up to the sky to drown in the colorful clouds of Black joy, Queer joy, the joy of women, and everything in between.
