Why do you make art?
quite literally to survive. poetry is more so a medium through which I live my life, rather than a hobby. i'm deeply compelled by an innate desire within me to create the art I make, it's never really been a question for me.
About
Patience
Patience Stuckey is a multidimensional scholar-activist who's been writing and performing for as long as she can remember. As a poet and spoken-word artist by passion and a budding sociologist by trade, Patience is a creative dedicated to expanding her knowledge and engaging in and creating meaningful discourse. Through her creative and research efforts, she seeks to contribute to the landscape of Black Queer Feminist schools of thought and expand the boundaries on where art and academia can intertwine. Listening to Patience’s poetry feels like a gut-wrenching catharsis you can’t help but be intrigued by–and as a self-identifying radical storyteller, she continues to try to push the boundaries of her own vulnerability in everything she does.
